Capacitor Duty Contactors

General Specifications:

At the moment of switching, Capacitors effectively appears as short circuit. The magnitude of Capacitor charging or capacitor inrush current will depend on

several factors. 

Generally charging current peaks of up to 30 times the rated current and in-rush current of 180 times the rated current can flow through the contactors which is undesirable. 

Cap.Duty Contactors are fitted with discharge damping  resistors to limit the peak current to desirable current.

 Capacitor Duty Contactors are used in switching the PFC Capacitors in LV networks individually or in the Automatic Capacitor Banks. 

This type of contactors  are used to apply in the range of 5.67%, 7% & 14% Detune Filters.
